Nusa Penida is a small island located in the southeast of the island of Bali, and is separated by the Badung Strait. Near this island, there are 2 other small islands, namely Nusa Lembongan Island and Nusa Ceningan Island. The three small islands in the southeastern part of the island of Bali have their own uniqueness and charm and are different from one another. The third island is included in the government area of Klungkung regency, Bali province.

The meaning of the word Nusa Penida comes from the Balinese language, Nusa means island and Penida comes from two words, Ped and Ida. Ped means death and Ida means strength. So Nusa Penida can mean an island that has great deadly power.

Nusa Penida Island is the largest of the three islands and local people often call it Nusa Gede. Big means big. Meanwhile, Nusa Ceningan is the smallest of the three islands. Especially for Nusa Lembongan, the most famous island for tourists, especially Australian tourists.
